SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) – Sioux Falls Mayor Paul TenHaken joined representatives from the Small Business Administration and Downtown Sioux Falls to kick off the holiday shopping season with a focus on local small businesses.
Ten Haken tweeted “Did you know that nearly 60% of all workers in South Dakota are employed by small businesses?”
According to Jaime Wood with the Small Business Administration of South Dakota, there are 90,000 small businesses in South Dakota.
Sadie Swier, Outreach Director for Downtown Sioux Falls says that more than 50 cents of every dollar spent at a local business stays in the community.
The Mayor encourages residents to support #SmallBusinessSaturday, not just this coming weekend but everyday!
