SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The City of Sioux Falls has awarded a $10,000 grant to Friends of the Big Sioux River.

Friends of the Big Sioux River received the grant in 2021, which funded 11 clean-ups and 18 water quality tests.
Meier says focusing on the river is an important task for our community.
Since 2016, the Sustainable Community Grant has been awarded to a local non-profit to help elevate a community-wide sustainability effort.
Past recipients include SoDak Compost, Iron Fox Farm, Habitat for Humanity, Furniture Mission and Eco Maniacs.
