PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) — We get our fair share of wind in South Dakota – and some of that is paying off. The Energy Department says South Dakota was second in the nation in wind generation last year. More than half of the energy generated in the state last year was wind energy, with more than 80-percent of that energy being used in other states.
