SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls police are still working on the investigation into the deadly weekend crash that killed two teenagers, and probably will be working on it for several weeks. In the meantime they’re relying on clips from neighborhood surveillance cameras – and witnesses like Steve Blumke who saw the accident happen.
Blumke was at the scene of the accident within a minute, trying to help the victims.
Blumke says the scene is etched in his mind but adds the many calls from friends have helped him deal with it. The passengers ranged in age from 13 to 17. The two who died have been identified as Milana Reeves and Eric Hopkins, both 15 years old. Police say they haven’t been able to question the other passengers, who are still hospitalized, and aren’t sure who was driving.
